Jamie’s Personal Journey

Not only is Jamie Gilmore a pediatric cancer survivor, but she continues to fight a rare form of cancer called acinic cell carcinoma. At the age of 30, her cancer relapsed for the fourth time. It had originated in her parotid gland, but has now metastasized into her pelvis and lymph nodes. Since June 2012, Jamie has been receiving weekly chemotherapy and is currently fighting the largest mass to date, all while helping leave a legacy by founding the Jamie’s Hope Foundation. Pictured left: Jamie’s father, Earl Gilmore, surprised her when he too shaved his head. He helped turn everyone’s tears in laughter. Thank you to Tane Jones (hair), Wendy Martin (makeup) and Al Torres Photography for capturing this special moment in Jamie’s Cancer Journey.
