Event Information
Jamie’s Hope hosts the Second Annual Masquerade for a Cure Gala at the River Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas on Friday, October 25, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Up to 300 supporters will join together to support the Targeted Therapy research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. This year’s event welcomes new and returning supporters including celebrities, top executives and the “who’s who” of Houston.
Exquisitely adorned guests will delight in an all-inclusive GATSBY INSPIRED evening including; open premium bar, delectable plated dinner, live music by the Richard Brown Orchestra & exotic entertainment as well as unique and one-of-a-kind auction items. VIP guests will enjoy an intimate reception preceding the main event.

A Private Affair – VIP ticketed guests will partake in the exclusive reception featuring heavy passed hors d’oeuvres, exclusive live entertainment and the chance to win a lavish grand prize while mingling with special guests from 6:00 – 7:00pm.

Just like last year, we will have Electronic Bidding on all auction items. All Bidding will be done through your own cell phone or computer! You can bid from anywhere, anytime before the close of the auction right from your own device! You even get an update if you are outbid!
HOW THE AUCTION WORKS | Guests may preview the auction items through our ONLINE AUCTION as soon as they’re secured! Silent Auction items may be bid on and won by anyone with access to the ONLINE AUCTION link. LIVE AUCTION items may be bid on up until 3pm on the day of the gala, however, one must be present during the live auction to win a live auction item. Take time to preview and preregister online to eliminate check-in time upon arrival at the gala.

Marks Jewelers. For the first time, the gala benefiting targeted therapy research at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, sold out with 300 guests in attendance. The guest list surely impressed with attendees such as Cal & Hannah McNair and Brian & Megan Cushing. Dress Accomplished by H. Harloquin!
Finally got my dress accomplished!!!! The owner Haley of H.Harloquin dressed me for the event and was AMAZING!!!!! I was worried about chemo/treatment making me fluffier this year For the first time I dreaded dress shopping and put it off hoping I would drop a few pounds after I started working on major changes to my diet. Since last year I gained weight likely due to all of the wonderful medication that goes along with cancer. Soooooo my plans got put on hold for a short amount of time due to us recently putting a contract on a house finally (so moving, trying to sell our house, I am also the broker which means more work and closing might actually fall on Friday or Saturday, complete CHAOS!), Chemotherapy + Targeted Therapy, a recent severe pain episode that almost sent me to the ER our HUGE annual Gala, and of course life!! So……. my future goals to make changes to all areas of my lifestyle to help fight my cancer, severe fatigue, energy, etc… is right around the corner and I am excited and hopeful!!!!!! I am soooooooooooo SICK OF BEING SICK!!!!! So everybody will see the puffier version of Jamie this year, but what I am really excited about is seeing everybody in the future after I have changed my life Anyways…….. I was unusually surprised by how wonderful dress shopping ended up being considering how insecure I was feeling about myself.
